For one night, a personal chef of your own
Is there a better place to learn to cook than Paris? Not as far as I’m concerned. So I left engineering and managed to get an apprenticeship at La Robespierre in the 8th Arrondissement. The owner also helped me get a stage at Maxim’s and La Boule d’Or. Sometime after I had been back in California, my opportunity to open Restaurant Ma Jolie came up in Danville. These days, I’ve been helping out at friends’ restaurants, catering, and, my favorite, cooking for friends with adventuresome palates.
My repertoire has expanded to include the cuisines of Italy, Spain, India, N’awlins, and Mexico.
But we’ll always have Paris.
